Would 10 out of 10 recommend staying at AQR if you find yourself planning a trip Saariselka, Finland. We stayed for two nights in late March and had a wonderful experience.
Service
The owners and hosts are incredibly attentive and kind. From your initial greeting to send off Nina and Pasi make you feel like valued patrons of an exclusive experience. The staff is also kind and accommodating, with great recommendations and knowledge of the surrounding area. We also booked all excursions through the resort which made coordination very convenient. We enjoyed the aurora hunting and husky excursion, both were very enjoyable. The main dining had great breakfast included, limited lunch options, and delicious rotating dinner menu.
Location
Located only 35 minutes from Ivalo airport the resort was easy to get to and the resort also offers arranged transportation, for a reasonable fee.
Room
The rooms were great with great scenic views from the room. There is a dedicated small space for luggage and clothes to be hung along with a bathroom that’s small but luxurious. We enjoyed the room overall, however I’ll note there is no way to block the morning sun and no full length mirror.

Our stay in the igloos was truly exceptional. The facilities were luxurious, with thoughtful attention to every detail. The food was absolutely delicious, and the entire team made us feel incredibly welcome with their warm and friendly service. Our guide for the experiences was both knowledgeable and personable, adding so much value to each outing. All of our tours were seamlessly arranged through the hotel, making the entire trip effortless and enjoyable. It was an unforgettable holiday – we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Literally amazing! My parents and I stayed in an igloo this past week and it was an incredible experience. The igloo was cozy, the food was amazing, and the activities were really fun. The only thing I would say is that you really want to be in decent shape for some of the activities, especially the husky experience and the snowshoeing, otherwise it's somewhat difficult and less fun because you're struggling more. But overall I had a blast and I highly recommend Aurora Queen Resort! Seeing the northern lights was absolutely incredible and I'm so so glad we did this trip!

We had an incredible stay here. The domes are so cozy and bright, Nina and Pasi and the rest of the staff provide the highest level of customer service, and the tours they organized were perfect (I especially recommend the husky tour if you like dogs). We stayed for 3 nights total and saw stunning northern lights from our dome on 2/3 nights. A gym with everything you need (bike, treadmill, free weights, bands, bench) was an added bonus. We also enjoyed all our meals and drinks - we ate so much at breakfast that we only ate lunch one day. Thank you for having us!

Amazing hotel with friendly staff, delicious food, and the owners were fantastic hosts. The views from the igloo cabins are beautiful and the hotel has proximity to many fun activities -- which can be organized by the hotel with transportation included. We had a once in a lifetime northern lights experience and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable stay in Lapland.

We planned a trip with our adult daughter to see the Northern Lights, and we were not disappointed! We were able to see them three out of our four nights at the resort, and the viewing conditions were spectacular. We were looking for a small, non-commercialized resort with glass igloos in a more remote location within the Arctic Circle, and the Aurora Queen met all of these criteria. We booked an activity each day, including dog sledding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, hunting for the Northern Lights by minivan, visiting a reindeer farm, and enjoying the on-site sauna, and all of them were really enjoyable. Meals in the restaurant were outstanding! And our hosts Nina and Pasi were so personable and eager to ensure that we had the best possible stay. They were genuinely excited to hear about our views of the Northern Lights each morning! This was truly a luxurious once-in-a-lifetime experience, and THE place to stay in Northern Finland.

Greetings from Perth, Western Australia. We travelled here for our honeymoon in 2023. Two years later I’m still thinking about the experience its one of those places.

The host was so friendly and memorable, the food, the room… everything was perfect my only regret is not staying longer and it’s on my bucket list to return.
