I’m writing this on my second sleepless night, at 1:22am on a workday. Although the aesthetic is beautiful and you have a full kitchen, here are some major complaints:

- The bed was hard and lumpy, and the pillows too small, thus no support for my shoulders.
- the temp cannot go below 20.5c (70f) and the air is dry, so I hope you like feeling parched
- the light on the thermostat does not dim, so there’s a glaring light facing the bedroom
- the porch is beautiful, but the external doors are bolted shut

If you need to sleep, you should go to the Radisson next door

I enjoyed my stay at Aalto Inn, and I hope to return soon. A special mention goes to the cleaning team, who consistently provided invaluable assistance.||Here are some suggestions for improvements:||1. There must be instruction manuals for some appliances, such as the heater, microwave, intercom, and oven, in the common area.|2. It would be a great addition to having a mixer or blender among the appliances available in the kitchen or common area.|3. Clear instructions for accessing common areas, such as the sauna, would be helpful.|4. Upgrading the TV to a Smart TV or providing an HDMI cable would improve the entertainment options.|5. Regarding waste separation, it may be more practical to have just two containers for organic and non-organic waste, as it is challenging to ensure that residents correctly separate their waste into multiple containers for various materials. Additionally, an air freshener in the Waste Room can help improve odors.|6. The main entrance was sometimes broken.||Overall, I had a positive experience, and these suggestions to improve the guest experience further.|

Stayed here for two weeks. The lack of reception makes communicating with staff very hard, especially if you don't have a Finnish phone. Email only, which gets answered, usually, eventually. A direct phone in the lobby to a human would be really nice.

Otherwise, the rooms are nice, the location very convenient for visiting Aalto University. Each room has a nearly full kitchen with a common oven on each floor.

I have been for more than 3 weeks in a very modern 1 bedroom apartment. Has almost everything you need for a stay. Nice light windows, beautiful kitchen, very comfortable living room and good bed.|Very big bathroom and walking closet.|Well located for bus and metro ( about 5 blocks up hill) Next to the water and sports activities as well as Aalto”University campus.|Not so clear the process for entering the building for the first time, but could make it with support on the phone.|As it has no reception it could be a good suggestion if they have a whatsapp to contact. They only have e-mail and sometimes it gets long to answer.|Well housekeeping and maintenance team. |Have 2 washing machines and well organized timetable in a laundry.||It could be good if they provide detergent, (they do only for the washing machine) , and shampoo at least for the arrival.|Beautiful common place to read or relax in each floor. Also have a kitchen with oven there, a big table and enough chairs with a glass room to be.|The surroundings are very nice, waterfront and nice pathway to enjoy the area.|Just in front of a track and field, paddle courts and gymnasium.|Very safe area.|I can highly recommend it.||||

The building and appartments are functional and aesthetical pleasing. There is no "reception (just phone, e-mail)" - so some things cannot be organized right away. Housekeeping is very good and they also support in other questions. We were there in Winter and the the flat was heated up to 24° C which you could not really regulate down. It's a "passive house", which means the ventilation in the rooms is always running which you can also hear. Flats are not really suitable for families with children - e.g. no extra sleeping rooms for children in the appartment. There are community kitchens which during our stay no-one used. So you do not really meet other guests. I missed a "hobby" room for kids to play with a snooker-table, ping-pong table, table-football or playstation - somewhere you actually meet people. Also community events were missing. Apart from that, communication with UniHome via E-Mail was always very professional, fast and helpful. It was a very pleasant three month stay with my family.

The loft apartment we stayed at was cozy and beautifully designed, just like in the photos. The common areas are beautiful. The area is quiet and near nice walking areas and the metro station. ||||If staying for more than a couple days, guests should make sure to bring their own dish detergent, laundry detergent, and toilet paper as these are only provided in small quantities. ||||A couple minor comments: The stair steps are extremely thin, so the elevator felt more safe. Also, it would have been nice to have thicker blinds because the nearby Radisson Hotel kept its lights on all night.

The location of Aalto Inn was perfect not only because this was for me a work trip to Aalto University but also because it is in the nice natural landscape of Otaniemi. Other things contributing to a good work trip were that the apartment was nice, clean, and well equipped, the weekly cleaning and linen / towel change, large amazing indoor public spaces for working / relaxing / dining, and the washing/drying machines.

I was in Aalto Inn for three months, the location is great, very close to the University of Aalto and to the metro station, you can be in Helsinki's city center in 20 minutes! The views were nice, is in the seaside and there are nice places to go for a walk.
Some PROS and CONS:
PROS:
- Nice location, 5 - 10 min walking from the metro station and to the university.
- Great views and nice surroundings.
- Nice room, with all you can need for your stay, kitchen, bathroom, TV, ... Despite there is no oven in the kitchen there is one in the shared lobby of each floor.
- Free laundry room
- There is a city-bike station in front of the main entrance which is quite convenient.
CONS:
- There is no reception neither any staff, this makes the check in a little bit difficult, in my three months there I helped few people that were having problems with that. Also if you forget your keys inside the room you will need to call them to come to open you.
