We took two tours with Kertthu and both were excellent. One day of country skiing in Teerisuon, a giant frozen swamp in a remote forest, pristine and breathtaking scenery. Too cross a forest and a swamp with just the three of us was a special experience.

The other tour we did was the aurora picnic. It’s really worth it to bring a guide who knows everything about auroras and keep warm with a fire.

We did a half-day ski-shoe hike on Lammasjärvi with Kerttu and we really enjoyed it. Kerttu is an excellent guide, very organised, knowledgeable, and passionate. It was like a picture postcard of my childhood imagination of winter come to life: endless snow to the tree-lined horizon; the smell of pine on the wind; the delicate crunch of fresh snow under foot; a surprise picnic around a fire that we helped to light. It was just lovely. Kerttu is very good on natural history: knows all about the aurora in great detail; glacial history and its impact on the landscape; animal trails; trees and plants. I learnt lots. One of the nicest things was when Kerttu said "I love Kuhmo" (her local town), then you know you have a guide who really believes it.

Splendida serata intorno al fuoco in compagnia di ottimo cibo locale! La kota si trova in riva al lago, lontana dall'inquinamento luminoso. Il posto è perfetto per vedere l'aurora e vivere un'esperienza davvero finandese. Kerttu è una persona piacevole, affidabile, sorridente, preparata, nonché un'ottima cuoca. Aspettando l'aurora, ci ha raccontato un sacco di cose interessanti sulla zona.
La cena era squisita, la location bellissima, l'atmosfera calda e familiare: esperienza consigliatissima!

Fantastic and memorable trek to Teerisuo-Lesosuo.
Skiing is good, but the snow-shoe-skiing through empty lands was amazing. Would never have done it on my own! Kiitos!

Great outdoor trip with Kerttu! I had a wonderful time and enjoyed the hot soup at the fire and all the impressions that I got on that morning!
