En milieu de chemin, arrêt dans un petit chalet, pour se réchauffer et prendre une boisson chaude.

Prior the activity, we contacted the company the week before and two days before to check that we had enough snow and they confirmed. But checking the online cameras in Lapland we were not than sure. When we asked for alternatives, just in case we could not do the snowmobiles, they did not answer.

The tour began with a one-hour delay because the guide was missing. Another staff member, who arrived on time, informed us we had to wait for him.

Once the tour started, his snowmobile broke down after just 20 meters. Instead of addressing the issue immediately, he asked a couple in the group if they’d be willing to reschedule their tour for later, presumably so he could take their snowmobile. The couple declined, as they had other plans. Miraculously, his snowmobile started working again shortly after.

As we continued, it became evident that the path was unsuitable for snowmobiling. It was filled with rocks and barely had 2 centimeters of snow. After only 1 kilometer, his snowmobile broke down again. He spent about 10 minutes calling the office but appeared to get no response. At this point, we (a group of 4 people) suggested ending the tour. He told us we could walk back, claiming it was only 200 meters, which we refused, as the distance was almost 1 km.

The rest of the group (10 people) also decided to abandon the tour due to the poor conditions and lack of solutions. The guide then informed them that they wouldn’t be eligible for a refund if they ended the tour, as he would have enough snowmobiles to continue if four of us would cancel the excursion. Despite this, everyone agreed to return and speak with someone else.

As we started heading back, the guide began calling us, saying we weren’t allowed to leave with the snowmobiles. Ultimately, we convinced him to go back with us on one of the snowmobiles.

When we arrived at the office, he told us to contact the office in Rovaniemi if we wanted a refund and then disappeared. The other member of staff, the one who faced the issue, tried her best to help us, but even she couldn’t reach her boss. After waiting for an hour with no resolution or alternatives offered, we gave up. And we contact the company where we booked the activity.

We wasted an entire day for this excursion. We had driven all the way from Rovaniemi to Saariselkä solely for the snowmobiling experience, which turned out to be an utter disappointment.

The snowmobiles activity it was 169€ per person, which is not a cheap one.
The company where we booked (Get your guide) refunded us the money very quick. It was the only positive thing that happened.

I cannot recommend Lapland Welcome to anyone. The lack of professionalism, organisation, and customer service was appalling. Including they knew there was not enough snow to continue with the activity.

We did Snowmobiling sleigh photography tour in Saariselka

Good things
- Guide was good and he did his best effort for everything

Points of improvement
- Tour should not be more than 1 hour. It was difficult to see same views for 3 hours under such extreme cold as there was nothing new after some point of time
- Sleigh had very bad uncomfortable seating for guests/tourist. You cannot make someone sit on wooden base for 3 hours that too during off roads. Sleigh should have comfortable cushion seating arrangement
- There was no photography done even when it was photography tour.

My partner and I had taken the snowmobile tour to see the Northern Lights. Our tour guide, David, was kind and entertaining, just a great person.

The ride itself was pleasant and we were lucky to go on a clear day to get view of the aurora. The tent/campfire and little snacks were adorable.

We had booked through GetYourGuide; my only comment is to make it a little more clear about the details of the pickup location. We weren't sure if it was a bus pickup, or what room we were supposed to meet in. The location simply said "Siula" house, which we found. But we had wandered to find the room a little - a sign out in the lot may help.

Super moment passé avec notre guide David.
Arrivés au bureau, nous nous sommes équipés
et David nous a expliqué le déroulement de
l'activité. Puis nous nous sommes rendu à la
motoneige, après quelques explications nous
sommes partis. Quelques arrêts photos, puis
nous avons fait un petit barbecue où David
nous a parlé de la vie Finlandaise. Ce fut un
bon échange. Une bonne expérience que je
recommande. David a été très agréable.

We had a really nice day-trip from the Inari region to Luosto with our guide Horia on January 13th 2025. He is very caring and interesting and he drives safely. He spoke good french too.
The landscapes were breathtaking (and the visit of the mine was something quite unique).
We also enjoyed the lunch break. Thank you!

We had a wonderfull time with the "Aurora Nothern Lights by Car and on Foot". We arranged the pickup at the K-market in Saariselka, drove to the office to get additional clothes then to the hill where after a short walk we could go out to see the lights and get in to get warmer and enjoy cooking on the fire place. Of course the experience was made better by the luck of seeing many lights.
